Crazylabels cross-border Crazylabels is going international. After a successful year in the Netherlands, Crazylabels has decided to conquer Europe. After a short trial period in Belgium, Crazylabels expects to open its doors in three neighboring countries in early 2020. The founding of Crazylabels

With the question, what does every company need, and what isn’t seasonal, Crazylabels was founded in May 2018. After Crazylabels went live in May, things were quiet for months. The website was up, we had invested in inventory, and the idea was well thought out, but no orders came in. For months, we worked on the website to make it discoverable on Google. We used social media and incurred quite a few expenses. It took months for the first order to come in, and it arrived just as we were on vacation. Slightly panicked, we still wanted to meet the expectation we had set through the website: namely, shipping within 24 hours.

It took months for the first order to come in
Then came the realization: if you want to stand out in this market, you have to go the extra mile. Despite the vacation, the package was delivered personally that same day. The first regular customer was secured. The response was enthusiastic and astonished, which led to a change in the vision of Crazylabels. Surprise customers and go the extra mile for them, so that as a small player you stand out to the customers you can win over. The focus shifted more to sales. Visiting customers, finding out what they need and responding to it. That’s how orders started coming in during September 2018. A number of orders came in every week. The money coming in was immediately invested in marketing. The year ended with a turnover of a few thousand euros. Something had to be done if Crazylabels was to succeed and compete in the market. That’s how we got talking to a competitor who found the market too challenging and wanted to sell their company. This left us with a difficult choice: a competitor dropping out of a challenging market, and an acquisition that would require an investment. In the end, we chose the latter. Further investment, picking up industry knowledge, a company with more than 5,000 customers and inventory. It was a gamble, but it soon became clear that we had made the right choice. Month after month, we grew, eventually reaching more than 500 orders per month. Crazylabels went from the third division on Sundays to the first division.
It resulted in more than 500 orders per month.

What does Crazylabels do?

With the question ā€œWhat does every business need, and what isn’t seasonal?ā€, Crazylabels started with shipping labels. There’s a huge market for Dymo, Brother, Seiko and Zebra labels. Original labels are very expensive. Prices can reach €30 per roll, even though this is a product used every day by every business. If you ship packages, choose Zebra shipping labels. If you send a lot of mail, choose a Dymo 99012 address label. Whether you’re labeling products or jars, or using barcode labels, you name it, there’s a label for it. Just 1% of the Western European market amounts to a hundred million euros in revenue for labels, which customers still pay far too much for. That’s why Crazylabels has suppliers in Europe and the Netherlands. We know which labels sell best and keep them in stock. We also work with suppliers to guarantee a one-business-day delivery time. Crazylabels supplies labels from stock at a fair price. Whether a customer orders one roll or a thousand, we make sure they get the best price.

Why Crazylabels?

In a rapidly changing market, we understand our customers’ needs and wishes. No one wants to wait weeks or days for their order anymore. Order today, receive it tomorrow. Price and quality play a major role here. Consumers naturally look for the best price, but also expect a reliable product. We stand for both price and quality. In a market like this, there’s only one way to achieve that: make sure your customer becomes a regular. A new customer can easily cost €50. That’s why you don’t make a profit on your first order. Make a great first impression and delight your customer, and they’ll become a regular. This is the only way to run a successful online store.

Make sure your customer becomes a regular
After a year, 75% of our customers return within three months. We believe you build a business together with your customer. The customer should be at the center, and your team should be geared toward them. The employee, customer, business circle needs to work. No one includes address labels or shipping labels in their budget. So they shouldn’t cost too much. Across the border Wow, a satisfied customer. That makes us happy. Especially when we can look back on a successful year in the Netherlands. That’s why we decided to test the waters with our neighbors. How would they respond to our formula? Would the market be open to it? The answer was an emphatic yes. The first orders came in within a day. And that was on a Dutch website. Time to invest in a new website and introduce ourselves to our neighbors. We expect to go live in three countries besides the Netherlands in early 2020. We’re also growing month by month in the Netherlands, and by using historical data and growth, we can respond to the market’s needs. So we expect to reach an average of 700 orders per month next year and double that in the first few years. We’re ready. Are you? Will you stick around?Ā
